Required Experience and Education

· Valid CDL “A”, or “B” with Air Brake Endorsement
· Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for past 3 years
· Pass a drug test as per DOT Guidelines
· Valid and current DOT Health Card and/or able to secure new DOT Health Card
· Prefer 1 year of driving experience in operating a commercial vehicle
· Will consider recent graduates from an accredited trucking school
· NO DUI convictions within the past 10 years. NO Felony convictions
· Proof of having attended an accredited Commercial Driving School

Primary Duties/Essential Functions

· Perform all required daily safety checks (i.e., pre/post trip) including inspections of the truck according to Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations
· Inspect truck to insure it meets company safety standards and take appropriate action as needed
· Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies. Immediately report all safety hazards
· Operate a commercial volumetric mixer in a safe and professional manner. Knowledge of laws and regulations while operating a commercial vehicle
· Maintain daily logs and reports as required by Gunner Concrete and regulatory agencies
· Maintain overall daily and routine cleanliness of the exterior and interior of the vehicle
· Inspect ALL fluid levels daily and maintain tire pressure as required. Complete a full “COLA” air test weekly
· Be able to do minor and simple repairs on the vehicle in the event of a break down
· Responsible for the Daily Electronic Log (ELD), GeoTab, as it applies
· Become knowledgeable and skilled to move and secure various construction equipment on trailers
· Ability to react calmly and effectively in all situations
· Must maintain a clean and valid California Commercial Drivers License

· Acquire an awareness of all traffic regulations with a willingness to comply
· Ability to walk distances, climb, stoop, bend, stand for long periods of time, operating a portal batch plant, delivering concrete to the end customer
· Lift up to 50 lbs.
· Be able to work and adjust to varied work shifts and climates.
